Small Business IT has been locally owned and operated since 1991. We’re genuinely passionate about New Zealand’s small businesses, and partner with our clients to deliver the software, systems, and support that lead to future business growth.

 

We have a strong focus on disaster recovery and data protection. After helping many of our clients get back up and running quickly after the Christchurch earthquakes, and more recently supporting customers to move to remote working during the Covid-19 lockdown, we know the importance of having your files stored securely, and accessible from anywhere.

History

Small Business IT founder David Symes left school with a keen interest in electronics and woodwork. After completing an apprenticeship fixing radio and associated electronics, Dave saw an opportunity to start his own repair business. In the early days Video & Computer Specialists was focused on fixing video recorders, printers and computers.

 

This was the beginning of his journey that led to the creation of Small Business IT in 2007. Dave Symes and his team have been providing services to Christchurch businesses since 1991.

 

Dave’s focus has always been on providing knowledgeable, professional service, along with the products small businesses need to make them successful. Today the trusted team at SBIT can offer your business a suite of intelligent products, which combined with friendly expert advice can reduce the stress, and improve the efficiency, of running your company. Small Business IT has become a trusted advisor to some of Canterbury’s best-known companies, overseeing the management of more than 1000 devices among its client base.
